Coach Mark Kring's History

Mark D Kring started his career in the Fleet Anti-Terrorist Strike Team for the U.S. MarineCorps in 1991. He was transferred to Camp Pendleton CA to the 2nd Battalion 4th Marines for Desert Storm as a Amtrax Team Leader. After Dessert Storm he transferred from 2/4 to becoming a MP Officer in the U.S Marine.

After Leaving the Active duty he moved To Raleigh for the Raleigh Police Department. His specialty was always weapons training and retention. Coming back to New York he started a Personal Training team called Team Fit for Life, that ended up turning into a Full Service gym called New York Fitness.

During all of this he started competing in bodybuilding winning his first show, the NYS Ironman, then on to Tri State overall Champion winning his first Pro card. His biggest achievement was winning the 2002 Mr. NYS.

Mark ended up going back into the service after 9/11 and retired in 2016. During his last deployment he was the first person to put on a bodybuilding show in a combat zone and COB Basra training over a 100 different service members from all branches in Iraq in 2010.

After leaving the service he began learning Wing Chun and branched off to Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Steve Buglar. Mark's other hobbies are learning Kali at Upstate Center for Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Qiqong along with Hop Gar Kung Fu under the discretion of Sifu Steve Nacua in Glens Falls. Mark's biggest passion is helping kids learn the benefits of Martial Arts Training.
